FRP Rod Strength Member

Product Details:

Aeron offers round rod, a Dielectric Strength Member used in the centre of Optic Fibre Cables. It is also used as armouring element in case of the designs where a dielectric armouring and a higher protection of cable is required. It provides excellent tensile strength performance due to higher stiffness and Anti-buckling properties, which in turn increase the overall service life of Optic Fibre Cables. The lightweight property of FRP Rod prevents the cable from sagging in Aerial Installation. FRP also protects Optical Transmission Indicators from the gases caused by chemical reactions of metal and the ointments.

Product Types:

Hard Coat

• It is a rigid di-electric rod, manufactured with high quality thermosetting resins which give high tensile strength and modulus with lower weight. It is used as central strength member in most of the die-electric cable design, however it may be used as armouring element in some types of cables.

Mega Bond

• Mega Bond is developed to offer specific adhesive thermoplastic coatings. EAA is widely used to give high adhesion properties to jacket material. These coatings are applied with a co-extrusion technology which gives strict tolerances on coating thickness and the overall size of rod.

Semi Rigid

• Semi-Rigid di-electric rod is specially developed to offer a more engineered product. Due to higher flexibility, it is used for armouring purpose. A specific resin is used to allow high bending radius without any fragile breakage. It also provides similar tensile properties as compared to rigid rods.

Product Sizes:
